How To Dress for interview

You can do some homework on the company's dress code by looking at photographs in its annual reports, or by talking with someone in the company. Since dress codes also vary according to geographical area, you may also want to talk to various people in the area to get information on appropriate dress.

A good rule of thumb is to dress conservatively unless you have reason to dress otherwise.  Dark suits are almost always appropriate, for both men and women. If a woman chooses to wear slacks, she should also wear a jacket. A jacket creates an ensemble and creates a more professional appearance.

Both men and women should stay away from flashy jewelry, as well as heavy perfumes and colognes. In general, avoid any article of clothing that calls too much attention to it and takes the focus off the total picture.
